Rep. Hauck reacts to Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State address
RELEASE|January 28, 2021

State Rep. Roger Hauck, of Union Township, today issued the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her 2021 State of the State address Wednesday night from the state Capitol building in Lansing:

“I was cautiously optimistic following the governor’s speech last night that she would attempt to work with us on combating the pandemic in a transparent and responsible way.

“Unfortunately, today the governor reiterated that she will not work with us on amending her disastrous COVID restrictions. She wants us to ‘unite’ to spend more money on relief that wouldn’t be necessary if we had a data driven plan with concrete goals.

“The governor’s attitude of ‘Let’s come together to spend more money so I can unilaterally prolong restrictions without any accountability’ is not a peace offering.”
